    Dear Families,

Thanks for a wonderful September! Here are some reminders for this week.

    1. Our October PAC meeting is Monday evening starting at 6:30. The meeting is held in the school library and childminding is available.

    2. Our school’s cross country run takes place after school on Tuesday at Centennial Park. We are always looking for extra volunteers to help, so if you are able to volunteer your time Tuesday afternoon down at the park that would be greatly appreciated.

    3. On Wednesday we have an early dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 12:30. The afternoon has been set aside for parents to meet with teachers. Teachers have set up meeting times either through email or sign up lists outside their classrooms. If you have yet to sign up to meet your child’s teacher, please call or email your child’s teacher to arrange a time.

    4. Friday is individual picture day. We will start pictures with the Kindergarten class and move up to the Grade 7 class.

    5. Term 1 overviews will be coming home to families this week. Overviews provide parents and guardians an outline for what big ideas in all subject areas your child’s teacher is planning to teach during the first term.

    6. Next Monday is the Thanksgiving Holiday, so there is no school for students. Have an enjoyable long weekend with family and friends.

    Have an awesome week!

    Mr. Reilly

    Dear Families,

Thanks to PAC for all their tireless work in organizing a fun Welcome Back to School BBQ last Wednesday. It was great to see so many of you at the BBQ!

Here are some reminders for this upcoming week.

    1. Our school will be taking part in the Raise-a-Reader campaign Tuesday morning. Volunteers will be selling newspapers outside of our school Tuesday morning before school. Please donate if possible. The Raise-a-Reader campaign raises money for literacy opportunities for both young children and adults in our community. Our school hosts a literacy event for parents that is partially funded from the Raise-a-Reader fundraiser.

    2. The RLC cross country run is Wednesday after school.

    3. On Thursday, we will have our first lockdown practice. A RCMP member will be assisting our school in our lockdown drill.

    4. On Friday we will have our first Recognition Assembly at 8:45.

    5. Our school Terry Fox Run is Friday at 1:00. Please help us support the Terry Fox Foundation by sending a ‘toonie for Terry’ with your child.

    Have a wonderful week!

    Mr. Reilly

    Dear Families,

Thank you to all the parents who came out to our first PAC meeting last Monday. Your support is greatly appreciated.

We will have our first fire drills this week. These drills can be a little frightening for our youngest students who have never experienced them before. Teachers will be talking with our kids about what the fire drill looks and sounds like to help prepare our kids.

Here are some reminders for this upcoming week.

    1. The first cross country run of the year takes place Tuesday at MacArthur Island after school. Cross country runners please be sure to get your permission slip forms to Mr. Scott by tomorrow.

    2. Our Welcome Back BBQ is Wednesday evening. This wonderful event organized by our PAC starts at 5 in the evening and runs until 7. If you are able to help out as a volunteer please call the school and school staff will direct you to a PAC member. We hope to see everyone out Wednesday evening.

    3. On Thursday, Science World will be here to present to our students in the afternoon.

    4. Friday is a non-instructional day and the school will be closed for students.

    Have an outstanding week!

    Mr. Reilly
