    Dear Families,


    This is the final week before Spring Break. Please enjoy and fun, restful break with family and friends and I look forward to seeing everyone back in April!


    Here are some announcements for this week.


    1. Ms. Kovacs’ class is off to the Henry Grube Education Centre Monday afternoon to connect with a buddy class from McGowan Park.


    2. Purdy’s orders, a fundraiser for the grade 6/7s field trip to Eagle Bay in June, went home at the end of February. If you didn’t receive an order, please contact your child’s teacher. Orders are due back March 14th.  


    3. Mr. Styles’ and Mr. Scott’s classes are off to the Kamloops School of the Arts Tuesday morning to watch a theatre performance.


    4. Wednesday is an early closure day. Students will be dismissed at 12:30 to allow for parent teacher interviews. If you would like to take this opportunity to speak with your child’s teacher please contact the teacher directly.


    5. Our March Recognition Assembly is Friday morning at 8:45. As always, parents are welcome!


    6. Term 2 report cards go home with students on Friday.


    7. Friday is the last day before Spring Break. Classes resume after the break on Monday, April 3rd.

    Dear Families,


    Here is some information for this week.


    1. Purdy’s orders, a fundraiser for the grade 6/7s field trip to Eagle Bay in June, went home at the end of February. If you didn’t receive an order, please contact your child’s teacher. Orders are due back March 14th.  


    2. We will have our second Lockdown Drill of the year, accompanied by the RCMP, Tuesday morning.


    3. Ms. Zelisko’s class is off to Westsyde Park on Wednesday afternoon.


    4. Students will get last Friday’s milk this Wednesday, as we didn’t receive a delivery from Blackwell Diary.


    5. Friday is milk and pizza lunch, as organized by PAC.


    6. Congrats to our Tier 2 Girls team who finished second in the City Finals last week. A special thanks to all of the coaches and parents who supported our 5 basketball teams this year. Parents, please remind your children to wash and return their jerseys as soon as possible.

    Dear Families,


    We have 34 Kindergarten students registered for next year as of Friday. Again, if you have yet to register your child for Kindergarten starting this September, please do, as staffing decisions for next year are made based on our registrations and enrolment projections in the Spring.


    1. On Monday, the tier 1 boys team plays at Pac Way.


    2. On Monday, the tier 1 girls team plays at home.  If the girls win, they play on Tuesday at home.


    3. On Monday, our school is hosting the Rocks and Rings program, which is an introduction to curling program for all students.


    4. On Tuesday, Mrs. Head’s class is off to the Big Little Science Centre and Ms. Day’s class is heading to the Japanese Cultural Centre. Also on Tuesday, counselors from Westsyde Secondary School will be at ASES meeting with our grade 7 students.


    5. On Friday, Ms. Simpson’s, Ms. Kovacs’, and Mrs. Head’s classes are off skating.


    A reminder to all basketball players to please wash and return your jerseys to your coach if your team is no longer playing.

    Weekly Update - February 17


    Dear Families,


    I am sending out the Weekly Update on Friday to give an extra plug for the PAC Used Book Sale that is happening tomorrow (Saturday) at our school from 10am to 1pm .


    Here are some reminders for the upcoming week (Feb. 20 - 24)


    Kindergarten Registration was last week. However, if you did not get an opportunity to register your child to start Kindergarten in September, please be sure to register early this week.


    Basketball playoffs start this week.


    1. On Monday, the tier 1 boys team plays at home against KSA. If they win, they play on Wednesday at St. Ann’s.


    2. On Tuesday, the tier 1 girls team plays at Pac Way. The tier 2 girls team plays at home against Juniper. If the tier 2 girls team wins, they play on Thursday at Rayleigh.


    3. On Wednesday, the tier 2 boys team plays at home.


    4. Wednesday is Anti-Bullying/Wear Pink Day! All students are encouraged to wear pink to school on Wednesday. At the school, all students and staff will be participating in a ‘Find the Other Half of Your Heart’ activity as well as enjoying some pink smoothies made by students in Mr. Scott’s grade 6/7 class.


    5. Our February Recognition Assembly is also on Wednesday at 8:45.


    6. The Grade 6/7 Chili Dinner is Wednesday evening in the gym. Doors open at 5:30 pm, with dinner starting at 6:00.  


    7. Friday is a professional development day, so there is no school for students on Friday.

    Dear Families,


    Here are some reminders for this upcoming week:


    1. There is no school Monday, as it is the Family Day Holiday.


    2. Kindergarten Registration is this week. Mrs. Scharien will be in the office Tuesday to Friday from 9-12 and 1-3 to accept registrations for next year’s Kindergarten class. Please be sure to bring your child’s care card, birth certificate and proof of your current address when registering.


    3. The final week of league play for basketball is this week. On Tuesday, the tier 1 boys team plays at David Thompson. The tier 2 boys team plays at home against Lloyd George.


    3. Our current Kindergarten students will undergo a quick vision screen on Wednesday.


    4. On Wednesday, the tier 3 boys team plays at home against St. Ann’s.


    5. On Thursday, our tier 1 girls play at David Thompson and our tier 2 girls play at home against Bert Edwards.


    6. On Friday morning, Ms. Simpson’s, Ms. Kovacs’, and Mrs. Head’s classes are skating.


    7. On Saturday, the PAC is hosting a book sale at Arthur Stevenson. The book sale starts at 10 am and will run until 1 pm.
